I think I might be having a mild case of SAD. Unfortunately I did some research and hibernation is not considered an effective form of treatment. I must disagree with science and medicine on this one though. It’s hard to be affected by depression while you’re sleeping. And all of that extra sleep promotes dreaming which is your subconscious’ way of dealing with issues, which I think is quite healthy. I’ve also decided that hibernation is an excellent way to lose weight! If you’re sleeping, you’re burning calories and you’re not taking in any calories, how perfect is that.
So my diagnosis is that hibernation is an effective treatment for SAD. Unfortunately, I don’t think my short term disability will cover me for 12 weeks of hibernation. So I must push through the day to day grind.
