RIP Mr. Tylavsky

I just got the news that Mr. Tylavsky, my high school principal, passed away after a valiant fight against cancer.

I don’t have any special memories to share about him but he must have made an impression on me since I distinctly remember him 13 years after graduating. I remember hearing stories of him dancing on the roof of our school (good ol’ Tabb High) during an unplanned pep rally.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and his past and current students. I think the saddest thing I’ve read is that his graduating seniors had voted for him to give their comencement speech.
